The opening event of the center attracted over 100 parents and children to come and learn about Arkki’s pedagogy and Finnish education. Children were very excited about participating in Sensory walk and Sweet Architecture workshop, under the guidance of the Finnish and Vietnamese team.
During the event, Ms. Nguyen Phi Van, Master Franchise of Arkki in ASEAN stressed the importance of building creativity and social skills for children in the long-term, crucial to prepare for their future learning and career.
Arkki has been operating in Vietnam now for almost one year and the good job has been recognised not only by parent and students but also by important institutions like UNICEF or the Department of Architecture and Planning of Ho Chi Minh City with which Arkki has participated in projects such as the Child Friendly City’ summer camps.
During these urban design camps, 289 children from 8 to 16 years old, many in a situation of vulnerability and disadvantage, had the opportunity to learn about urban design process and shared their ideas with the institutions involved in the child-friendly city, working on a bespoke area of Ho Chi Minh City, Thu Thiem. The project had a positive impact and attracted the attention of the media. Vietnam’s national TV channel VTV4 made a documentary on how Children Innovate project has made an impact on children’s lives in Hoc Mon, Vietnam.
